Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account, signing in, or using any part of the service operated by Contralysis ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. You may use the service only in compliance with applicable laws, including laws in South Africa.
Description of service
Contralysis provides software that helps you upload contract documents (such as PDF files), extract text, and receive AI-generated summaries, risk indicators, clause highlights, and related analysis outputs.
Features may vary between free and premium tiers. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
Not legal advice
Contralysis is an information technology tool, not a law firm or legal advisor. AI-generated analysis is provided for general informational purposes only.
Outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your situation. You are solely responsible for reviewing contracts and making decisions. Always consult a qualified attorney or other professional before relying on any analysis or taking legal action.
Accounts and security
You may register using Google sign-in or email and password. You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.
You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@contralysis.co.za if you suspect unauthorized access.
- Do not share your account or attempt to access another user's account.
- Do not use the service to upload malware, interfere with the platform, or abuse APIs or rate limits.
- Do not use the service for unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purposes.
User content
You retain ownership of contracts and other materials you upload ("User Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display User Content solely to operate and improve the service, including sending contract text to our AI processing providers for analysis.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload User Content and that doing so does not violate any agreement or law.
Subscriptions and payments
Premium features may require a paid subscription processed through Paystack in South African Rand (ZAR). Prices and billing intervals are shown at checkout.
Subscriptions renew according to the plan you select until you cancel. Payment failures may result in suspension of premium access.
Refunds and cancellations are handled in line with applicable consumer law in South Africa and Paystack's applicable policies, unless we state otherwise at purchase.
Intellectual property
The Contralysis name, branding, software, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or software except the limited right to use the service as intended.
Feedback you provide may be used by us without obligation to you.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the service or reliance on AI outputs.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or ZAR 1,000 if you have not paid us, whichever is greater.
Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the service or other users.
Upon termination, your right to use the service ends. Provisions that by nature should survive (including disclaimers and limitation of liability) remain in effect.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated via the service or email where appropriate.
Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
You agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us first. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be subject to the courts of South Africa, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
